Based at ICFAI University Tripura. Dedicated to advancing the field of Supramolecular Chemistry and Materials Science through innovative research and mentorship.
Our laboratory focuses on the intersection of coordination chemistry and materials science, exploring how molecular design governs macroscopic properties.
Strategic synthesis of transition (3d/4d) and lanthanide (4f) metal-containing complexes using meticulously prepared ligands to build novel coordination architectures.
Development of functional luminescent metallogels utilizing substituted terpyridine moieties and lanthanide ions for advanced optical applications.
Engineering of luminescent Two-Dimensional lanthanide Coordination Nanosheets, focusing on structural integrity and photonic properties.
Comprehensive investigation of optical, sensing, magnetic, and catalytic properties inherent in the synthesized coordination polymers and complexes.
Dr. Tufan Singha Mahapatra is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry with 9+ years of post-PhD experience, integrating academic leadership with cutting-edge research in inorganic, supramolecular and materials chemistry.
He is an alumnus of IIT Madras (M.Sc.) and IIT Kharagpur (PhD), and secured strong ranks in national-level examinations, including IIT-JAM, GATE, and CSIR-UGC NET (JRF).
His research focuses on coordination complexes/polymers, lanthanide-based luminescent materials, and 2D nanosheets for applications in catalysis, biology, sensing, & UV shielding.
He has published research articles in several reputable SCI-indexed journals, holds 3 patents (2 granted, 1 filed), and actively mentors PhD and Master’s researchers.
